Venice Rococo is a perfume that transports the senses to 18th-century Venice, a place of mysteries and secret encounters. Through this floral and powdery fragrance, the atmosphere of Rococo decadence, its luxurious interiors and clandestine passions is revived. The composition unfolds with a blend of black violet, blush rose and chamomile, anchored in a soft and velvety base of iris and amber. Each note is an invitation to immerse yourself in a world of sensuality and opulence, evoking the delicacy of a secret encounter in a private haven in the city.
The story of Venice Rococo takes us back to September 1757, to the Casino Venier in the heart of Venice. In a hidden alley, lies a small ridotto, a secret apartment reserved for the most intimate matters. Upon passing through a rosewood door, the visitor is greeted by a room of soft pastel tones: powder pink, pale green and pearl white. This space becomes a sensory refuge, where the walls seem to whisper stories of forbidden love. The air is permeated with a scented cloud of violet, rose and iris, while delicate stucco carvings depict foaming clouds, floral garlands and mischievous cherubs that seem to come to life under the candlelight. The sound of a mandolin can be heard in the distance, mysteriously coming from behind a wall, its melody mixing with the laughter and whispers of lovers, creating an intimate and intoxicating atmosphere.
The top notes of Venice Rococo reveal a fresh and floral opening, highlighting Roman chamomile, recycled Turkish rose water (an in-house production by Arquiste) and hawthorn, which provide a soft and luminous fragrance, like a first sigh of a secret love. Aldehydes, with their effervescent character, add a touch of elegance and refined air, evoking the chic and sophisticated atmosphere of period Venice.
At the heart, the perfume takes a deeper and more seductive direction. The powdery accord of "Poudre à la Maréchale" (beauty powder of the French nobility) evokes the soft, powdery touch of the skin, while Moroccan orange flower absolute brings an enveloping floral sweetness. Black violet and cumin essence blend to add a layer of mystery and seduction, with violet offering a floral softness and cumin a warm, spicy touch evoking the sensuality of a furtive encounter.
The base notes reveal an animalistic and sophisticated base, where animalic amber and civet accord bring a sensual warmth that intertwines with the softness of iris germanica extract. French Jasmine Absolute, with its floral richness, completes this elegant base, creating an enveloping and deeply seductive fragrance that lingers on the skin like a whisper of forbidden love.
Developed by master perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux, Venice Rococo is an ode to the luxury, intrigue and sensuality of a bygone Venice. Each accord is meticulously crafted to evoke the decadent elegance of Rococo salons, secret encounters and the timeless beauty of the city. This perfume is an invitation to enter a hidden world, where the powder of beauty, floral notes and sophistication intertwine in a unique olfactory dance.
