HOUBIGANT
The history of Houbigant is the history of modern perfume. Set up in a small store on rue du Faubourg de Saint-Honoré in 1775 by a young Jean-Francois Houbigant, the company quickly made a name for itself in the industry.
Houbigant's fragrances were worn by Marie-Antoinette, carried throughout Europe by Napoleon, and used by the family of the last Tsar of Russia. Houbigant was the first to isolate a perfumed molecule and is the creator of fougère, still the most popular family of fragrances for men.
